digitalHusserl is the comprehensive digital environment of the Husserl Archives, KU Leuven, that is meant to:

  • Ensure the long-term digital preservation of the Husserl Archives' collections
  • Enhance global access to Husserl's writings and facilitate internationally connected archival and philosophical research for scholars worldwide
  • Advance the reception of Husserl's thought by means of enriched and searchable digital transcriptions of his writings.

During the first five years of this project, we prioritized long-term preservation, which is our first responsibility as Archives. All of Husserl's more than 40,000 manuscript pages have now been ingested and secured long-term. They are already accessible with descriptive metadata through this website. Many other documents, such as transcriptions, letters, photographs are gradually following.
